THE STORY OF BEAUTY

The Forget-me-not is a small flower that blooms with delicate blue blossoms.

Its English name, “Forget-me-not,” carries the meaning of “do not forget me.”

In a European legend, a knight who was picking flowers by a river was swept away by the current. As he threw the flowers to his beloved, he called out, “Do not forget me.”

This story became widely known as a folk legend in Europe, particularly in Germany, and over time, the forget-me-not came to be cherished as a flower entrusted with the feeling of “never forgetting.”

Eventually, its name and story began to appear in many forms of art, including literature, poetry, and painting.

In Europe, from the medieval period onward, a culture of attributing meanings to flowers gradually developed, and the forget-me-not was also passed down as a symbol of remembrance and promises shared with those we love.

Its small blue flowers came to represent not only the love between couples, but also bonds between family and friends, and feelings for those who live far away—the many things we never want to forget.

The symbolism of the forget-me-not extends beyond personal affection.

Keeping the memories of those dear to us within our hearts. Not forgetting the time that has passed. And continuing to hold close the connection with someone who lives far away.

A small blue flower gently gives form to this invisible thing we call memory.

For this reason, the forget-me-not has long been cherished as a symbol of eternal love and friendship, loyalty, and the enduring affection we hold for those who are dear to us.

The small blue flower has also become a gentle companion when we think of those who live far away, or of someone precious whom we can no longer meet.

BEAUTY OF HAPPINESS

As time passes, distance grows, and we ourselves gradually change.

And yet, there are precious memories that continue to touch our hearts, unchanged.

Perhaps not forgetting does not mean continually looking back at the past, but gently carrying what is precious with us into the future.

The forget-me-not reminds us of the beauty of cherishing memories beyond the passage of time.
