THE STORY OF FLOWER
The name lavender derives from the lavender flower that blooms along the Mediterranean coast.
In ancient Rome, lavender was cherished as a plant believed to restore harmony to both body and mind, becoming an integral part of daily life through its delicate fragrance. During the Middle Ages, it was cultivated as a medicinal herb in European monasteries. Its pale violet hue came to be associated with spirituality and purity, lending a quiet beauty to spaces of contemplation.
During the Renaissance, lavender became increasingly woven into the lives of artists and scholars as an aromatic herb. Its gentle color came to suggest a harmonious meeting of intellect and sensitivity, softly illuminating the atmosphere of studies and ateliers.
By the 18th and 19th centuries, lavender had become widely cultivated in European gardens. Its color and fragrance gradually found their place in an aesthetic of cultivated living, becoming part of the beauty of everyday life.
In Japan, purple had long been regarded as a color of nobility and elegance, and was prominently featured in the refined garments of the Heian period. Pale shades of purple, too, have quietly lived within the Japanese aesthetic tradition, evoking a delicate and understated sense of beauty.
Born from the name of a flower, lavender has come to embody a meeting of two sensibilities: the contemplative beauty of Europe and the refined elegance of East Asia. Today, it is cherished around the world through fashion, interiors, fragrance, and many other expressions of contemporary life.
With its soft, luminous quality, lavender transcends borders and cultures as a color that gently restores a sense of inner balance. It quietly accompanies the modern pursuit of stillness, comfort, and a more mindful way of living.

BEAUTY OF HAPPINESS
Lavender has long embodied a beauty that gently calms the mind.
In ancient Rome, lavender was added to baths as part of rituals of cleansing, while its fragrance was cherished for its ability to create a sense of harmony and ease. In Japan, purple was treasured as a color of nobility and spirituality, admired for the quiet elegance it brought to its surroundings.
Even today, the color and fragrance of lavender naturally find their place in moments of rest — before sleep, within tranquil interiors, or whenever we seek a little stillness in our day.
Perhaps beauty is not always about adding something more, but about creating a quiet space within ourselves.
Lavender reminds us to be gentle with ourselves amid the pace of everyday life, and to make room for a moment of stillness — a moment in which we can simply breathe.
